Just want to quickly apologize to both my readers…I’ll be taking a short break from Robotic Melody. The site will still be up and you can still listen to the music, I just won’t be updating it. But don’t worry. I’ll be back.

Lets kick December off in style. Icarus is exactly what liquid beauty sounds like. Where the sound waves, cease to spike, they simply flow, overlapping each other lazily. Them the beat kicks in, and it’s house in it’s purest form. House the way it should be. Madeon is an extremely talented artist, I’ve actually posted my favorite song of his before. Be sure to listen up to this one, really amazing house is all too rare.

This is electronic music, at it’s most electronic, and it’s most musical. I love this song, not so much for the dirty drop, although that’s what most people hear. It’s that underlying beat that really gets me, that and the little style notes thrown in around the song. It’s the little things that count, because they really add up.

Unlike Pluto, like Pluto, is not very big. This song only has 8,000 views. However, everyone of those viewers are extremely enthusiastic about his music, which might be better than lots of fickle fans. I heard of him through a chillstep chatroom, and he makes great chillstep, but unlike most of the other chillstep producers he doesn’t restrict himself to that genre. He makes some amazing dubstep too. This is DnB, possibly my favorite genre, so I may be a little biased. But I think this is his best song, it’s really cheerful and melodic and it makes me happy when I listen to it. Free download right here, just like his facebook page.

I love Inception. In fact, I love anything by Christopher Nolan. He might be my favorite director of all time. That may be part of the reason why I love this song, but it’s only a small part. This piece is just beautiful, and quite eerie. Interestingly, I first heard the piece with the inception website open in the background, so I heard memorable pieces of dialogue and some talk about a Blue ray combo pack layered in. It actually worked really well, made the whole thing pretty epic. I recommend you click the inception link above and skip to the musical part on the second listen. It really is cool. This song is free by the way. First piece of disco I ever uploaded I think. That’s how you know it’s great.

This is how big builds should be. I love Daft Punk, and I think this remix emphasizes everything they do well, while injecting some of the remix artist’s flair. They call it a re-fix, which is probably more accurate since it’s not super different from the original song, but it improves on some key areas, and all a remix really needs to be is better, or if not better it should at least put an interesting spin on the original. Free download on this one too, something you won’t find on original daft punk songs.

I love this kind of stuff. Really creative and different, with a somber mood and excellent use of vocals. I think  one of the most important aspects of a song is how it conveys a mood, this song is a perfect example of what artists should be doing. It also manages to maintain it’s mood during the heavy drop which is quite difficult. That’s why alot of create atmospheric songs are DnB not dubstep. That drop can complicate things.

This song is pure insanity. That may honestly be the craziest and more intense drop I’ve ever heard. In my life. And I’ve heard alot of drops, believe me. The beat is insane too, the whole song just gives you this feeling of everything happening at once, of complete sensory overload. And then there is those beautiful synthesized vocals, the only thing that seems to remain calm while the aong spins out of control. Put all that together and you get one of the greatest dubstep songs of all time. And you can download it for free.

Protohype and Kezwik may be musical geniuses, but I think they have issues with decisions. It can’t be classified as Dubstep/Drumstep/Drum and Bass. That’s three different genres. Nah, but seriously this is some great stuff; I love the cut up vocals that a lot of artists are doing these days, it really machinates the human voices. This is part of a two song EP called, you guessed it, ‘Hold Your Breath Ep’. Grab it here.

AAAAAAND they’re back! I’ve said this before but Krewella is possibly my favorite music group period and it’s great to see them here again. Now, personally I think this song isn’t of the same caliber as anything in Play Hard but what’s great is it tells us Krewella is still here and producing. Maybe their earlier songs were better because they were hungrier, they’ve achieved high fame in the genre although they still have alot farther to go. I hope they keep pushing themselves; I hope Rainman in particular keeps doing his thing, because when he goes all out he’s one of the most amazing electronica artists in the game, but it’s too easy to sit back and let the trademark krewella vocals take over the song as had happened in this piece. Still, one song is not enough source material to know where they’re going. I’m inclined to think that they’re still pushing up. I want to hear them all over the radio. You get this song, and others for free when you like they’re facebook page. Just click the free download button.
